My Secret Sir (Review)

I love poetry but I can't say that I've ever read an erotic poem... until now. "My Secret Sir" is written from the point of view of a very dedicated submissive named Sasha. I've never claimed to understand BDSM but this poem makes for an interesting introduction to the sort of intimacy it engenders. The author Jenna Fox certainly has a way with words. And these words are free!

The Pursuit of Pleasure: Four Erotic Tales (Review)

"The Pursuit of Pleasure" is a collection of four stories about four loving couples who really know how to turn each other on. The locations are as diverse as the positions and orifices involved and take the reader on a quick but satisfying journey. Author A.L. Reynolds has a gift for descriptive and sensual writing.

Sorority & Car Trouble (Review)

I had the opportunity to read Autumn Seave's book "Sorority" and it was pretty hot. With such a title, I expected girl on girl action and I wasn't disappointed but the story also had guy/girl interactions and some exhibitionism. I think my favorite part was when the main character was being bathed by two of her sorority sisters as a number of guys watched from behind a glass partition. The story goes on to some interesting and even dark places following the main character beyond her sorority experiences.

Seave is an excellent writer, descriptive and sexy and I really enjoy her blog. If you haven't read any of her work, what are you waiting for? I'd also like to recommend her short story "Car Trouble" which is free on Smashwords. It's the story of a small town mechanic who has a few flings with a hot rich girl passing through town.

The Stepson (Review)

When I received a copy of Daniella Donati's series "The Stepson," I expected to read some hot cougar action with a young stud. I wasn't disappointed but I was also surprised by the other places that this story took me.

We follow the erotic story of Jason Gardner, recent college graduate, as he comes home to meet his new step-mother, Linda and his new step-sisters Heidi and Stephanie. When his dad, Jack, leaves him alone with these three ladies while he works on an oil rig, Jason quickly gives in to temptation.

Reading this story reminded me a lot of my own work with "The Kendra Collection" in how many twists and turns the author took me on with this narrative as well as having some similar thematic elements, though Donati takes the tension of what's happening to some unusual and taboo places.

The descriptions of the characters and what they do were very hot and I certain felt as though I was right in the middle of all the action. Daniella Donati has a very vivid and sexy imagination and I loved taking this journey with her.

Booty Bucks (Review)

Admit it, we've all seen them. Porn "auditions." Some pretty young thing alone in an office with a "casting director" and a video camera. Of course, as an audience, we're kind of limited in what we experience when watching something like that. Thanks to author E.K. Sabins, however, we get a peek inside the mind of a desperate college coed who decides to audition for a friend so she can make some extra money for school.

Angie is the main character in "Booty Bucks," a sexy short story about overcoming one's shyness and giving in to lust for the sake of college text books. While Angie's situation might not be ideal, she certainly doesn't come across as a victim. She really gets into her audition and and Sabins' descriptions of her feelings and sensations really puts the reader in the same seat as the main character. Since it's written in the first person perspective, we also get an idea of what it's like to stare down the lens of that video camera for the audition while being asked to... well, I'll let you read the story to find out.

Sir Robert's Stories (Review)

Sir Robert's Stories is a FREE web site that collects a variety of erotic short stories for your perusal.

One story that I read, "Andee's Hotel Adventure," was a pretty hot foursome originally published on Literotica. It tells the story of an adventurous woman named Andee who has her own adult web site and a group of salesmen she meets on a business trip. After some drinking and very sexy talk, she shares her web site with the salesmen and they decide to have an impromptu photo session followed by some steamy sex. The writing is very descriptive with a touch of humor and always sexy.

Be sure to check out Sir Robert's other web sites including his Facebook page, Tumblr, and Twitter feed.

I'd also like to thank Sir Robert for a great review of my novella "Camping with Christy."

Secret Story Time: More Filthy Fantasies (Review)

Care to sample some of Jason Jaxx's work? Check out "Secret Story Time: More Filthy Fantasies" which is absolutely free! It's a fun collection of sexy shorts. Very descriptive and stimulating. My favorite story? Sunglasses.

Day Care Darlings (Review)

I just finished reading a very hot collection of short stories by Tony Wards called "Day Care Darlings." There are three stories, all with the same theme: older men seducing or being seduced by the young women that babysit their children. It's a popular fantasy and Wards' writing style is very descriptive and stimulating. I could picture the barely legal minxes in my mind beautifully and felt as though I was experiencing the very spicy encounters as if I was in the shoes of their older lovers.

I think the third and final story was my favorite of the three with the exotic european beauty Kelly though I enjoyed reading all of the stories. They were very stimulating and sexy! I look forward to reading more stories by this author. :-)

Ashley's Craving - Fantasies4U Book 1 (Review)

The Ashley in Jason Jaxx's "Ashley's Craving" is a frustrated housewife who loves her husband but wants something more in her sexlife. So, she turns to a company called "Fantasies4U" which promises to safely fulfill anyone's wildest sexual fantasies. Ashley wants to be with two men, experiment with BDSM and possibly try anal sex. Of course, Ashley still loves her husband which creates some inner conflict but this is resolved in a very interesting way.

My complements to Jaxx on his attention to detail in this story. As expected, the sex was hot and descriptive and the twist at the end was a pleasant surprise.

A Night on the Town (Review)

Jason Jaxx's story "A Night on the Town" would more accurately be called "A Night at a Swingers Club." But that's neither here nor there. The story is pretty hot as it follows the exploits of Jason and Nicky on what starts out to be a glamorous night out and turns into an evening of debauchery. The hero couple is obviously in an open relationship, as are the different people they encounter at a pretty wild party.

Jaxx's descriptions of the characters and action is pretty vivid and it's a fun read.

The Force of Circumstance (Review)

I was given the opportunity to read another story by the author Polecat. Described as a "dark erotic tragedy," "The Force of Circumstance" is a story about Paul, a young engineer who arrives in Thailand for work ahead of his fiance, and Lana the girl that he "buys" to take care of his house.

Yes, the story is about slavery and I'm glad that the character of Paul felt conflicted about his purchase and yet he proceeds to take advantage of the girl anyway, though it is consensual. I guess you could say that I felt conflicted about reading this story since I am bothered by the practice of human trafficking and have a hard time seeing it as an erotic topic.

Lana's story is a sad one and the ending was unexpected and a little confusing. The sex scenes were sensual and descriptive but the context in which they were presented made it difficult for me to enjoy them. Again, the slavery thing just bothered me.

I'm not going to say that I wouldn't recommend this story because I'm sure there is an audience that would appreciate it. It just isn't me.

Her Breasts (Review)

I'm not reviewing anyone's breasts in particular. Rather that's the title of a short story that I just read written by an author who goes by the name of Polecat.

I had never read a BDSM story before and, I have to admit, I was a little hesitant about doing so. But once I got into it, I found a certain level of understanding about the dynamic of BDSM relationships. The key is trust and that was definitely in place between the two characters of the story, a husband and wife.

While I found the actions that were taken somewhat disturbing, knowing that it was all consensual and pleasurable for both parties put my mind at ease, although it didn't make BDSM any more appealing to me.

For those individuals who enjoy such stories, I'm sure it will satisfy. All that's satisfied for me, is my curiosity.

Polecat also has a blog that you can check out.

Submit to the Dark Side (Review)

"What does it take to make her cream, to make her moan and writhe in ecstasy in her office floor? What turns him on to the point that he is willing to step out of his comfort zone to try something he didn't even know he was into? What makes a woman risk the wrath of a jealous wife just to attain satisfaction? Only one thing can drive a person, man or woman, big or small to do things that they ordinarily do: a body-rocking, earth shattering, dripping, wet orgasm.

"Lorraine, Maelee, Tera, Dawna, Cherica, Damian, Chantal, and Markette all find themselves in hot pursuit of their lovers' intimate affection and carnal attention but the only way they can attain such is after letting their inhibitions slip away into vulnerability. In each southern city contained within Submit to The Dark Side we find our cast of characters enthralled in either a new or budding sexual relationships where ultimate submission is what they must each bring to the table to please and be pleased in this collection of off the beaten path short stories and flash scenes."

--------------------------------

I had the opportunity recently to read a collection of short stories titled "Submit to the Dark Side: Stories to Explain the Stains: First Tease" by La Drama Princess featuring Devon Diamond and Strawberry Golden.

At first, I didn't know what to expect. But the forward to the book makes it pretty clear that it's a collection of unrelated short stories about submission. A subject that I've only touched on in my own erotic writing.

The stories are to the point in both their common theme of submission as well as the sexual encounters of the characters. I was particularly engaged by the writing of La Drama Princess who describes her writing as "erotic fiction featuring straight and LBGT characters of the African Diaspora."

This caused me to reflect on my own writing where, as I've said in another post, I limit character descriptions to first names and somewhat vague descriptions of body types. I have never considered the ethnicity of my characters beyond maybe describing one or two as "exotic." La Drama Princess painted pictures in my mind of her characters, beautiful men and women of African descent with differing and realistic body types (apart from generous descriptions of the mens' penises, another area that I keep vague in my own writing).

La Drama Princess goes to some dark places with stories of ambiguous consent that get turned around into the "victim" taking charge of the situation for her own pleasure. She explores infidelity, prostitution (although subtly) and experimentation in lesbianism.

All of the writing in this book is descriptive and arousing, that's the point, and includes interesting settings and scenarios for the characters.

Friends Share (Review)

I just finished reading a very hot story called "Friends Share" by Autumn Seave.

As the title suggests, this is a story about four friends sharing a girl and it's written from the girl's point of view. She's in a committed relationship with Sean and they love each other very much to the point of going to extra lengths to fulfill each other's sexual fantasies. Passing reference is made to experiments with domination involving a professional dominatrix and group sex with some girlfriends. But "Friends Share" is all about fulfilling the girl's ultimate fantasy of being with a group of men.

I loved that this story was written by a woman who's committed to writing her fantasies just as I do—and has an imagination that goes places I've been hesitant to explore. Themes of domination, spanking and name-calling have always seemed like male fetishes to me—fetishes that I don't particularly indulge in—but the author has shown me that women can be just as turned on by them as men can. This shouldn't surprise me. I consider myself a fairly open-minded and progressive person with an understanding of sexual liberation, and yet here I am, kinda surprise by what I read. Of course that didn't make it any less arousing.

The idea of sharing a woman with another man—or men—is one of my fantasies as well and it's nice to be able to connect with the author in this way. It makes me feel less alone and less weird about my own sexuality and reminds me that we all have our naughty desires and that it's okay. And there's no safer way to explore them than to do so in prose.

The story is also available on Smashwords and it's affiliates.

Taking a break...

Writing erotica is like scratching an itch for me. I get an idea for a scenario or scenarios and I start to fantasize about it or them. Writing it all down gets it out of my system and I no longer dwell on it, I move on. Preferably to non-erotica projects.

My last novella, "Virtual Encounters," felt a little incomplete so I decided to write a sort-of-sequel to it. I say sort of because this "sequel" takes place concurrently with the closing of the last chapter (before the epilogue) of the original story. Basically, reference is made to a couple of encounters that Craig and Veronica have before they sell their HoloGen system. This sequel, "Virtual Encounter with Billy" is about those encounters. I suppose I could have just added another chapter or three to the original document but I do enjoy making book covers.

Anyway, I've gotten one more story out of my system and, for now, I don't have any other fantasies that I'm entertaining. I'm in a good place and I'll be trying to focus my energy on other stories that I'll develop and distribute under my given name. The Stephen Olander pseudonym is going to take a break.

Curves ahead

I don't go into too many details when it comes to physically describing my characters. Part of the reason is because I think that no matter how I describe them, my readers are going to picture them in their minds in their own way anyhow. So I offer limited descriptions of hair and eye color and emphasize the use of words like, "Fit," "Athletic," "Muscular," "Voluptuous" and, of course, "Curvaceous." Though I do occasionally offer a cup-size when describing a female character's breasts.

I do love a woman with curves. The classic hourglass figure will always get my attention and many of my female characters are described that way with curves that don't quit. One notable exception was the character of Valerie in "Submitting to Angie" who I described as athletic and somewhat small-breasted but still a very sexy woman. The reason I described her the way I did is because she's based on a person that I really knew who looked that way.

Of course, only a handful of my characters are inspired by real people, most are just figments of my imagination. Though Christy in "Camping with Christy" was inspired by a real person, the character ultimately took on characteristics that were unique to the fictional character that I created and she wound up not really resembling, in my mind at least, the woman that inspired her.

My main male characters are usually "fit" and perhaps muscularly "defined" but their male lovers are usually described as "pretty boys" and sometimes "twinks" with an air of femininity about them since why else would an otherwise straight male character sleep with another man if not for the fact that he was pretty? Well, in the case of Greg and Alan, you've got two guys approaching middle age on fairly equal footing physically. Then there's the case of the simulant characters of Billy (a pretty boy) and Hank (a masculine, muscular specimen) in "Virtual Encounters" who will be revisited in another story.

Do I have to share?

I was asked recently if I had to share my erotica writing by someone who understood that it's a way for me to find some sexual release (once I have a fantasy written down, it's no longer in my head and I don't dwell on it).

I have to admit that I feel a little conflicted about it. I'm a spiritual person and this is definitely not spiritual writing and while it is a release for me, it might not exactly be a positive thing for others.

I used to just share my erotica for free on the web site Literotica but now I'm self published and get a little income from my writing, which makes it even more difficult NOT to share since there's a monetary reward for it now.

There's also the part of me, which is part of any writer or artist, to seek validation and how can I get validated for what I do if I don't share it?

What do you think?

Thoughts on my latest project

So, I'm outlining my new story and it's bringing up a lot of interesting questions about ethics and relationships. It's also making me think about ethics and the use of the technology. While most of my erotic writing is pretty straight forward "sex stories," this is the first of my erotic stories that is proving to be as intellectually stimulating as it is sexually stimulating. I can only hope that my readers feel the same way about it.

Behind the storytelling

I've got a friend who writes erotica and people often ask her if her sex life is as exciting as what she writes. She makes it clear to anyone who asks that she's pretty vanilla in the bedroom and I imagine that's the case with most erotic authors. That their imaginations go places that they rarely if ever go in real life.

I've shared some personal experiences on this blog that show that I can be pretty kinky in bed but I've also said that I write about things that I'll probably never do for real. As "hot" as my erotica can get, I feel that I need to come clean about something... I don't have an active sex-life. I am, for the most part, celibate. I do date and as I said in a previous post, I'm hoping to meet someone to marry but I'm trying my best to hold off on having sex until I am married. I haven't been successful at this since I have slept with a couple of women in my life with whom I've had some amazing and somewhat kinky sex but they have been few and far between.

Writing erotica is how I choose to release my sexual energy instead of actually having sex and it works quite well for me. I hope that my future spouse will understand this and hopefully she'll be willing to read my work so she has a better understanding of my sexuality and appreciation of my fantasies, just as I hope she'll share her fantasies with me. Perhaps we can write something together.

Thinking about Star Trek

Yeah, I'm kind of a nerd. I love science fiction which is probably why I'm eager to get started on my next erotica project—an erotic science fiction story—so much so that I'm going to offer a bit of a spoiler here.

No, my story is not going to be erotic Star Trek fan fiction—though I have read a story or two along those lines. But it is going to look at one of my favorite pieces of "Trechnology," the holodeck. While I'll need to come up with another name for it in my story, I've always thought—from the first time I saw it on the series—that if I had my own holodeck, I'd use it to get laid. Hey, I'm just being honest. I'd use it to fulfill every sexual urge and fantasy I've ever had and, let's face it, if the technology existed in real life, that would be a major market for it. Sure, the educational and entertainment potential of something like a holodeck would be fantastic and very useful but I'm pretty sure that the driving force behind any advancements in the technology would be headed up by the adult entertainment industry.

So, that's what I'll be exploring in my story, from the perspective of a married couple that wants to explore their sexual fantasies together with the help of new technology.

Some new stories

I've published a few short sequels in recent months. My horny muses have been hard at work. It's strange that every time I write an erotic story I feel like I've gotten it out of my system and that's it, there won't be any more... then my mind starts to wander and I get another idea... or two. But I have other non-erotica projects that I'm working on and I don't want to neglect them. And yet, one of these new erotica ideas is actually really intriguing in more than a sexual way. It's an erotic science fiction story about a married couple. We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll tackle it for NaNoWriMo.

Dirty vs. Really Dirty

A friend of mine read one of my stories recently and told me that the language wasn't very dirty. This surprised me. I thought it was very dirty. When I asked her for examples, she said that the characters could have called each other names.

I've never been too fond of name-calling. It seems mean to me.

My friend said that if the other person wants it, then it isn't mean.

True enough.

There are a couple moments here and there in my writing where one character might refer to herself as "a slut" or a dominating character will call their submissive a "bitch" but it isn't very pervasive.

I suppose it's possible I could write a story with a little more dirt in my dirty-talk. We shall see. :)

Finding Someone

I'm a single man living in a somewhat conservative community. I'd like to get married someday. Hopefully sooner rather than later as I'm already approaching middle age. I guess I'm worried that I won't be able to find someone who will accept the fact that I've written erotic fiction or that my erotica writing is basically an outlet for my sexual fantasies.

I'm certainly not the only erotica author who writes under a pseudonym. I've talked with other writers who live in communities similar to my own and it's very important that they keep their writing identities a secret. But I'm not one to keep secrets. At least not to the people that I care about. There are only a handful of friends of mine who are aware of my erotica writing and I want to be able to share it with someone that I love too. Not just the fact that I've written erotica but I hope that I'll be able to share it with her as well.

I think it's important that couples are open with each other about their sexuality, their fantasies and fetishes and I kinda like the idea of being able to say, "Hey, if you want to know what my fantasies are like, just read my blog and my erotica. It's all there."

As I date, I have to gauge who I think would be able to accept my erotica writing. This isn't easy. I don't come right out and say it, of course, but as I get to know different women, I can certainly figure out early on who might have a problem with it. I keep hoping that I'll find someone who not only won't have a problem with it but would be open to reading it and also sharing with me their own sexual fantasies in a fun and healthy way.

Sometimes I think that because of my erotica writing, I may have inadvertently isolated myself; adding a layer to my own persona that some women just won't be able to get past. But, then I consider the fact that as a storyteller and someone with a healthy sexual appetite and fantasy life, who wants to share said fantasies with the one I love, the only difference between me and anybody else is that I've written my fantasies down... okay, I sell them for others to enjoy as well. I suppose some women might have a problem with that too.

I really hope I find the one who'll just accept me... and soon.

Psychoanalysis

I've been reading some of my work and I noticed a trend in my writing: I seem to really like take-charge women. I wonder what sorts of things I could learn about myself if someone read all of my erotic writing and did a little psychoanalysis.

Tattoos

In my last post I talked about piercings and how I think they're sexy.

Well, I think Tattoos are sexy too... as long as the artwork is done well. Ugly tattoos aren't sexy at all.

I haven't described too many tattoos in my writing though a memorable one I did describe was a little star tattoo above Whitney's vulva in "The Kendra Collection".

I don't have any tattoos but I wouldn't object at all to a lover having them. :-)

My favorite tattoos on a woman are, I'll admit it, the lower back tattoos. But I prefer smaller ones to the larger ones. Though there's a Suicide Girl who has a fascinating leopard print tattoo on her back that I find very sexy indeed.

Piercings

I think piercings are sexy. Well, most piercings. Gauges can be hot until they get ridiculously big, then they're just disturbing.

I don't have any piercings myself, though I had a pierced ear for a couple of years. I doubt I'll pierce anything else in the future.

I don't know if I have a favorite type of piercing but it's probably a tossup between navel piercings and nipple piercings.

I once had a girlfriend with a navel piercing. It was very hot. But I understand that nipple piercings can add to one's sexual arousal, making nipples more sensitive to touch. That's probably hotter.

I have a character in my new story, "Camping with Christy," who has several piercings. Nipples, lip, tongue. She loves them and knows how to use them, especially her tongue stud. Of all the characters I've created for my erotic writing, I've got the biggest crush on her. Probably because she's based, in part, on a real person that I have a crush on... who happens to have a pierced lip. ;-)

Lolita Complex

I was once told, indirectly, that I have a "Lolita complex." This was in a review of "Kendra: The Business Trip" (the first part of "The Kendra Collection").

I've actually read Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov and I'd like to share some observations. The main character in Lolita is Humbert Humbert (not a typo) and he's sexually attracted to young girls or very young-looking women. This isn't because he was a pedophile per se (though "hebephile" has been applied to him), it's because as a child himself, he had a romance with a little girl that was never consummated; so he spends the rest of his pathetic life trying to capture what he never got to experience with his first young love. He then finally thinks he's found what he's looking for in the titular daughter of a woman he rents a room from. So, he marries the woman to be close to her daughter. Of course, he doesn't count on the fact that Lolita is just as conniving and manipulative as he is, if not more so.

I personally have no interest in young girls or even very young-looking women. However, seeing a voluptuous woman dressed in the outfits of young girls is an undeniable turn-on for me and a lot of other men. Yes, that includes the cliché Catholic school girl uniform. In the end though, for me, it's still all about the beauty of the female form, not the idea of being with jailbait.

I did have an online role-playing session with a woman who was looking for an "older man." I was glad to fill that role for our purposes and in the middle of it, she started calling me "Daddy." I have to admit, that really turned me on and that plays into the Kendra story (which was also based on a role-playing experience).

Dominance and Submission

I've never had a D/s experience and I honestly don't know that much about the dynamics involved but that didn't stop me from exploring the topic somewhat in my new novella, "Submitting to Angie."

For me, the appeal of a D/s relationship or experience is being on the submissive side. To me it seems that being submissive and just doing what I'm told would, in my mind anyway, absolve me of any responsibility for what I did. I'd just be following orders. This is especially the case where my bicuriosity comes into play. Throwing another man into the D/s experience and being told to go down on him or have sex with him wouldn't be "gay" or "wrong" because as the submissive, it's my job to do as I'm told. The idea of turning on my dominant partner(s) through my submission and following orders would also be a plus.

"Submitting to Angie" actually has a semiautobiographical element to it in the relationship between Justin and Valarie. Drawing on my own experiences of losing my virginity, the first time I tried anal sex and snowballing. It was an interesting experience to relive these moments in prose and I hope my readers enjoy it, as well as the fantasy tangent the book goes into with the encounters with Angie and Tony (who are loosely based on a couple of friends of my Valerie).

Review Response

I got my first review on Amazon recently in response to a request for my novel "Kendra."

It was titled "Sorry, not what I would call erotica" but the reviewer still gave the book three out of five stars so I guess I can't complain too much. The reviewer gave her reasoning for the title by saying, "...to me the difference between erotica and porn is that erotica has character development and a much more substantial storyline and plot. Unfortunately, Kendra has none of this. The book is simply sex..."

Most of the "story" and character development is in the first part of the novel, originally published as "Kendra: The Business Trip."

I've said before that I have no illusions about my erotic writing. And, of course my writing is simply sex; my erotica consists of my sexual fantasies so the story/character elements are little more than filler to put the sex scenes together. I'm okay with that.

I did find this comment from the reviewer interesting: "...it read as if a testosterone-fueled teenager had written it." Well, it was a testosterone-fueled adult but that's okay.

The reviewer also said, "If the reader is looking for something to browse while getting their rocks off, well, then this will probably be just the thing."
I can't complain about that.

I've been told I write sexy erotica and I guess that's what a lot of erotica readers look for. This particular reviewer is more about the story, which is fine. Maybe they would prefer "James & Ellen: Together at Last."

Special Delivery (Review)

I love a strong woman who takes charge and that's exactly what Silky Phelan delivers with Gemma in her erotic short story, "Special Delivery."

Silky's descriptions really capture the senses and the way her main character Gemma takes charge of her men is a real turn-on. She made me want to surrender to Gemma myself and let her do with me as she pleased, handcuffs, blind-folds and all.

While the story is very sexy and the detail delectable, these aren't two-dimensional characters. There is depth to Gemma and her lover Jeremy and real conflict that the characters are dealing with. While the plot smacks of classic porn scenarios (the hot delivery-man with a package), the execution is erotic, intense and elicits empathy in the reader.

For $0.99 this hot story is a steal and worth every penny.

Meta-reference

I've said before that I'm under no illusions about the kind of erotica I write. It's very sexy erotica because these stories are my erotic fantasies. Here's a bit of a meta-reference from my latest work-in-progress:

"It was a Saturday evening and the closing credits to a movie the four friends were watching in Angie’s living room had started to roll. The movie was typical premium cable soft core porn. A silly plot stringing together a bunch of sex scenes with the main character portrayed by a busty brunette. Despite the corny jokes and giant plot holes, the sex scenes were enough to get the friends hot and bothered."

Caleb (Review)

Caleb is a player. He's a got a lady at home, a secretary he likes to play with AND a fuck-buddy named Kelly. It can be hard, in more ways than one, to juggle so many women in a guy's life. Does he get away with it? Well, I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. The story is written in the first person but switches between the perspectives of characters which makes for an interesting ride for the reader. The sex scenes are descriptive without being too graphic but what I especially loved were the sensual descriptions of the characters' bodies. I felt really transported into the story at those moments. Caleb is an interesting and humorous character and I found his live-in girlfriend, Sarah, to be a bit misunderstood. Overall, it was a worthwhile read.

Caleb is written by Kim McNiel and published by Hot Ink Press.

His Southern Temptation (Review)

I'm not a regular reader of romance novels—I think the last one I read was "The Bridges of Maddison County"—but Robin Covington's latest novel, "His Southern Temptation" (Book 2 in her series "The Boys are Back in Town" from Entangled Publishing) just swept me off my feet. It's said that a surefire way to identify good writing is if you really care about the characters. Well I not only cared about these characters, I found myself falling in love with them.

Lucky, our handsome hero, is in love with Taylor, his on-again-off-again lover and a beauty that likes to keep her distance and her options open. Their chemistry is delectable and Covington's descriptions of their lovemaking made me feel as if I was the lucky one.

That Lucky is the one pining for Taylor and not the other way around, is something I didn't expect and yet I could totally relate to. I found myself rooting for these two to get together from the start and while their hookups are very satisfying—to both the characters and the reader—I wanted to see the romance blossom and the two make a life together.

Of course just as I'm really getting into the emotions of their relationship, Covington ups the ante with danger and suspense. Remember, I love these characters now, to put them in any kind of trouble is going to make me not want to put the book down until I know that they're okay and can live happily ever after.

Thank you, Robin, for taking me on this romantic adventure and creating Lucky and Taylor, two characters that I truly adore.

The Modesty Diaries Pt 1 - The Journey (Review)

Have you ever read someone's diary?

I'm not suggesting that you go rummaging through anyone's personal belongings in search of their diary so you can peruse it in the hopes of finding something juicy about their personal life. Thanks to Katie Ellison, you don't have to.

I had the opportunity to read Katie's diary recently and I didn't need to sneak around to do it. She had taken the liberty of publishing it for all to read.

The Modesty Diaries Pt 1 - The Journey, isn't your typical erotic fair but it is a fascinating read. Written in the first person, as expected, the style has an almost stream-of-consciousness feel to it. The dialogue is fragmented within the descriptions but I didn't find it distracting at all from the flow of her storytelling. It simply reminded me that this is not a typical narrative read but a peak inside the mind of the author.

As a man, reading the words—thoughts!—of a woman, I found it especially enlightening. Compared to other erotic stories that I've read where all characters involved are totally confident and assertive in what they want and the sex is practically choreographed ahead of time, Katie's perspective offers a refreshing reminder that real human interaction has its moments of uncertainty, restraint and even a little fear. There is a vulnerability to her "character" that everyone can genuinely relate to yet at the same time she is confident, assertive, knows what she wants and goes after it despite some misgivings and apprehension. That twinge of doubt and uncertainty makes her experiences that much more exciting.

The sex scenes are descriptive without being too hardcore and, again, reveal the character's vulnerability and quirks that we can all relate to. A bit of conflict occurs here and there between her and her partners in choosing what they do, giving the scenes a much more realistic feel, a welcome departure from the A-B-C descriptions of erotic encounters I've read elsewhere.

I really enjoyed her descriptions of sexual climax, especially those of her lovers. I won't spoil the descriptions here but suffice it to say it appealed to my appreciation for characters that aren't afraid of bodily fluids.

I found her choice to replace names of people with single letters to be interesting but a little distracting. I suppose she could just as easily have made up new names for her lovers but, again, it reminded me that I'm not reading a story, I'm reading a diary. These events aren't just from her imagination, they actually happened.

I'm grateful for Katie for allowing me to peak inside her mind and her lifestyle and highly recommend her first foray into erotica.

Brainstorming

I've been thinking a lot about when I lost my virginity and the month or so of torrid sex that followed. I'm debating whether or not to write a story based on those experiences... and maybe taking them to another fictional and sexy level. :-)

That being said, I'd like to share with you some of my early attempts at erotica writing. I don't think they're good enough to sell but some people found them enjoyable.

Avatars

I mentioned before that I used to engage in online roleplaying. Specifically sexual role play, aka "cyber sex."

Since I was essentially writing a story on the fly with my partners, this was the start of my erotica writing career. Some of my stories were inspired by role playing sessions, or even picked up where some left off.

I have played several different characters in my role playing sessions. Men, women and transwomen of varying ages and descriptions. Then I found a very interesting web site called F-list that provides an online chat space and the ability to create character profiles for one's avatars.

Even Stephen Olander is an avatar. My erotica writing persona. Here's the profile I created for him:

http://www.f-list.net/c/steven_open

I also created a female avatar named Valarie who has a few different avatars of her own that she "plays" including a sexy alien and a "shemale" vampire.

http://www.f-list.net/c/valarie/

It's particularly fun as a man, playing Valarie, pretending to be a boy or a transexual.

Some of my role playing included age play, which for various reasons can't be included in my erotica writing for publication purposes.

Perhaps someday I will write some erotic stories involving these other characters that I've created such as:

I've also always felt, since I first found this site, that it would be a good place for couples to go and share their various kinks with each other.

The Casting Couch

They say that erotica is not porn but I'm honest enough with myself to admit that the erotica I've written isn't exactly high art.

I'm no stranger to porn though I don't indulge in it as often as I did when I was younger.

Though I sometimes fantasize about who would play some of my characters if my stories were ever adapted into adult films.

I can think of one performer off the top of my head to play the part of Katherine, Kendra's mother in "The Kendra Collection."

The lovely Rebecca Love.

Come again... and again

Porn is all about the money shot. Coitus interruptus following by a man aiming his ejaculate at the face or breasts of his partner(s). In erotica, one can simply describe coming inside someone, the visuals in the readers' minds can be much more detailed than what can be caught on camera.

In my erotica writing, I've written plenty of money shots. Why? Because, frankly, I think they're hot. But my male characters go places that most in porn do not. I love it when my male protagonists come on a woman's breasts and then lean in to lick her clean. I'm also a big fan of snowballing, the act of ejaculating into the mouth of your partner, then kissing them and sharing the semen.

It seems most guys treat their own come like it's toxic waste and yet they expect their female partners to act like porn stars, eagerly lapping it up and spreading it on their faces and bodies. My philosophy is that a guy shouldn't expect his lady to do anything that he isn't willing to do himself and that includes eating his own come and I think it's incredibly sexy to lap it up off of your lover's body.

I know what you're thinking: "Have you done it?"

My answer: Yes, I have. And I love doing it. I remember the first time I did it. I pulled out of my lover when I came and ejaculated onto her belly. I then leaned down and licked it off of her.

"You are so kinky!" she said with delight.

Another night when we were in the throws of passion, she said to me, "I want you to come in my mouth."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yes. I've never wanted to do that before."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes... how do you feel about snowballing?"

When I felt myself about to orgasm, I pulled out of her and straddled her body. I thought I would just come on her breasts but she moved in and took my cock into her mouth just as I started to ejaculate. When she pulled off of me, I kissed her and she spit my come back into my mouth. I didn't mind the taste at all and was really turned on by the experience.

I don't know why it is most guys are turned off by this. Where is the romance in saying, "I'll go get you a towel."? Semen is just another bodily fluid. How many times have you cut your finger and put the bleeding apendage into your mouth? I'd say most people know what their own blood tastes like, why not know what their own come tastes like?

Ménage à trois

Some of my earliest sexual fantasies involved two or more women. It's become a cliché that all men wish they could have two women at once and I'm not going to deny that I fit that mold. I've even occasionally wondered how I might make something like that actually happen, though it never went past the musing stage.

Then I actually had sex for the first time and realized that I may not be up to the task of pleasing two women since focussing my attention on just one seemed to take up most of my energy. Of course, the idea of two women pleasing me as well as each other continues to be a favorite fantasy.

As I started to be more aware of my bicurious tendencies, my fantasies, roleplaying and erotic writing started to include encounters with transwomen. I figured if I was going to explore someone else's penis, it would be easier if it were attached to a beautiful T-girl.

I guess that's what they call a slippery slope because after a while, the idea of a ménage with a woman and another man soon followed. At first with just the idea of me and the other guy pleasing the woman but soon we were pleasing each other under the hungry gaze of our lady friend who, of course, was incredibly fascinated and turned on by watching her two male lovers having sex with each other.

While I still fantasize about the classic MFF threesome from time to time, and enjoy thinking about being with beautiful transwomen, I have to admit, the majority of my personal sexual fantasies are of the MMF variety which constitutes the main theme of my favorite erotic writing project, "The Kendra Collection." It also lead to my first attempt at writing an MM story which I have discussed elsewhere.

Pegging

A recurring theme in some of my erotic writing is pegging. The practice of a woman using a strap-on dildo on a man.

I was trying to remember where I first saw this. My earliest memory of it is probably from junior high or high school and reading a review of an adult movie in a magazine. The accompanying picture was of a woman crouched behind a man on his knees. She was wearing a harness and it was obvious that she was penetrating him, even though the photo didn't show everything.

There was something intriguing about that image though I didn't explore the idea of it again until years later.

Today, I'm turned on by the idea of role reversal in the pegging dynamic. I'm attracted to strong, confident women and while I'm not sure if I would enjoy the physical sensation of being penetrated anally by a dildo, I can honestly say that I'd be willing to try it for the right woman. Especially if the idea of it turns her on as much or more than it does me.

I've read, and written, about how wearing a strap-on dildo and penetrating a guy can feel empowering for a woman. I'm actually more turned on by the idea of getting on my knees in front of a woman wearing a strap-on and going down on her fake cock. Licking and sucking on the dildo as I look up past her bare breasts and into her eyes. I imagine her jaw dropping in fascination as she watches me bob my head back and forth on her silicone member.

The closest I've come to this experience was a time or two when I was making out with a lady friend and I started to suck on her fingers. I loved the look on her face. She was fascinated by the site of me taking them into my mouth. We had talked about pegging and MMF fantasies before and I knew she was imagining me sucking on a cock as she felt my wet, warm mouth and tongue on her fingers.

I also had a conversation with another friend about pegging, in which we both confessed having fantasized about trying it. I told her that I would let her do it to me but we never tried it.

Someday though, I certainly hope to.

The Exception To The Rule

I'm not gay... I'm not even bisexual.

However, on the Kinsey spectrum I'm probably bicurious. Which is why if a situation ever arose where I absolutely had to have sex with a man (like if the fate of the world and/or the human race depended on it), I wouldn't object to making sweet love with Andrew Garfield.

How I Got Started

I was recently asked by a friend how and why I started writing erotica.

Well, I used to participate in online sexual roleplaying and anyone who's worth their salt in the games of online sex knows how difficult it is to find a compatible partner or to get the story of the roleplay to go where you want it to. There's always the need to compromise and sometimes double back in the middle of a scenario. I've been lucky enough to have had one partner who liked to outline a story with me. We would have a general idea of where our playtime would take us and then we would write the most elaborate and descriptive scenarios.

Unfortunately, we weren't always able to get together to play and trying to find other partners proved to be very disappointing. But one thing that I always took note of whenever I roleplayed with someone was the recurring complement that I was a really good writer and very descriptive in my roleplaying.

So, one day, I decided, "To hell with finding partners. I'm just going to write out my sexual fantasies and take the stories where I want them to go."

I started by publishing my work for free on Literotica then, after meeting a friend who had her own erotica published, I took the next step and self-published some of my own work.

The rest, as they say, is history.
